Healthwell Liver Function+ is a daily supplement that contains several components interesting in cleansing, detox, and other functions largely handled by our liver. With these capsules, you get choline, which promotes normal liver function and normal fat burning, as well as a number of plant extracts from, for example, dandelion, artichoke, and liquorice. Healthwell Liver Function+ also contains the well-known ingredient curcumin in the form of turmeric and Japanese knotweed extract with natural trans-resveratrol. Finally, piperine is added to optimise the body's absorption of the different substances.

How does the liver work?

The liver has several important functions in the body but is probably best known as the body's cleansing system. The liver handles, for example, medicines and other external substances that need to be broken down and transported out the natural way. To support normal liver function, Healthwell Liver Function+ contains choline, which also contributes to normal fat burning. The fat we get from our diet is handled by bile acid, which is generated in the liver. The liver generates between a half and one litre bile a day and contains, in addition to bile acid, water, salts, hormones, and bile colourants. The substances broken down by the liver are transported out of the body via the stool, but the substances it cannot break down are usually transported back out in the bloodstream and are then purified in the kidneys, which are the body’s other major cleansing organ. This process eventually rids the body of waste products and things that do not belong in the body; it is simply our very own natural detox. In addition, the liver helps to:

Plant extracts from dandelion and Japanese knotweed

Healthwell Liver Function+ contains several herbal and plant extracts that contributes to liver function in various ways. Among other things, extract from Japanese knotweed, Polygonum cuspidatum, is included. This plant contains the ingredient resveratrol, which has antioxidant properties and protects the body's cells from degradation. In addition, the capsules contain extract from artichoke, which is studied for its ability to balance and promote a normal urinary tract, as well as dandelion extract, which is a popular supplement in connection with diuresis and detox. Grape seed extract is also included in Liver Function+. This extract contains an abundance of polyphenols, a chemical substance also found in other plants and which is the plants’ natural protection against external stress, such as solar radiation.
