Milk thistle extract in capsules

What is milk thistle?
Milk thistle is an annual plant that belongs to the family of Asteraceae plants. It is characterized by its white-spotted and thorny leaves and beautiful reddish-purple flowers. The plant originates in the Mediterranean area but is today grown in many parts of the world.
Milk thistle has been used as a natural remedy in multiple cultures for about 2000 years. Among other things, the herb was much appreciated in ancient Greece, where it was widely used for various ailments. Above all, it was considered good for cleansing the body and expelling unwanted substances. It is mainly the content of the active substance silymarin that makes milk thistle interesting in health contexts. Silymarin is a type of flavonoid that is found throughout the plant but is most abundantly in the flowers and seeds. Today, many studies are conducted on silymarin and toxin formation (1).
Despite the herb's long usage and the many studies that have been carried out, more research is needed to be able to draw conclusions about its possible effects. In many countries, however, it is popular to use milk thistle tea for detoxes and cleanses.
Dosage for dogs
Body weight under 10 kg: 1/2 capsule per day. Body weight 10-45 kg: 1 capsule per 10 kg. Body weight over 45 kg: 4-6 capsules daily spread throughout the day.
