Omega-3 from fish oil
Healthwell Omega-3 Fish Oil is extracted from coldwater fish, which means that the oil maintains high quality. Omega-3 is our most important fatty acid, found mainly in oily fish. Omega-3 contains the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA, which contribute to normal heart and brain function. By taking two capsules of Healthwell Omega-3 Fish Oil a day, you ingest the necessary daily dose. You may also increase the dose slightly if you have a greater need for omega-3.

Why eat omega-3?
Omega-3 belongs to the polyunsaturated fatty acids and, apart from oily fish, it is found in certain algae, walnuts, and canola oil. Most fats needed in the body can be made from protein and carbohydrates, but this does not apply to omega-3 fats. It is therefore important to ingest this through diet or dietary supplements, as it is necessary in order for the body to build and repair cells, regulate blood pressure, and maintain the immune system.
About 1% of the daily energy intake should come from omega-3. This corresponds to about 2 tablespoons of canola oil or one serving of salmon a day. Those who don't eat oily fish – or any fish – need to ensure their intake through other sources and possibly even through dietary supplements.
