Quercetin with vitamin C.
Healthwell Super Quercetin contains natural flavonoids (Saphora japonica) in vegetable capsules with 500 mg quercetin per dose. In addition, bromelain and vitamin C are added for best effect. Bromelain helps promote enzyme activity and thus the uptake of quercetin in the body. Vitamin C in turn contributes to the uptake of bromelain. Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant that counteracts oxidative stress, and contributes to a normal immune system.

Quercetin is found in fruits and berries
Quercetin is a yellow dye that occurs naturally in fruits, vegetables and berries, and gives them their colour. Quercetin is common in onions, grapes, citrus fruits and apples. When you peel and cut into fruits and berries, however, the flavonoid content decreases quickly, so it is important to eat your fruit immediately if you want the maximum amount of quercetin.

Properties of quercetin
Quercetin is best known for its flavonoid properties and the fact is that quercetin is actually one of our most active flavonoids. It has also occurred in several studies where other properties of the substance have been investigated, and it occurs in dietary supplements used in allergies.
It has also been shown that for optimal effect, quercetin should always be taken together with vitamin C, which has an antioxidant effect and contributes to a normal immune system. The immune system works to keep the body resistant to viruses. Healthwell Super Quercetin therefore contains added vitamin C, at 40 mg per capsule.
This is oxidative stress: There is always a natural process in the body where cells build up and break down. When the breakdown of the cells prevails, it is usually called oxidative stress. The condition increases with, for example, sun exposure, smoking, alcohol and hard training.
Does quercetin have side effects?
Quercetin as a dietary supplement has no negative side effects if you follow the recommended dosage instructions.
