Liquid vitamin E
Healthwell Vitamin E Liquid is a convenient supplement of the vitamin E antioxidant, which promotes several bodily functions. Vitamin E is best known for its antioxidant effect, that is, it counteracts cell degradation due to various forms of stress. Because this supplement comes in liquid form, it is very easy to dose and use, either as is or diluted in various beverages. Thanks to vitamin E having antioxidant properties and preventing oxidation, it can also be used to prevent oils and fatty acids from oxidising, for example in skincare products with an oil base.

How the vitamin E antioxidant works
Along with, for example, vitamin C, vitamin E is one of the best-known antioxidants. Both are tasked with counteracting free radicals breaking down our cells, that is, oxidation. The vitamin E primarily acts by its tocopherol content preventing the polyunsaturated fatty acids making up the cell membranes from breaking down. That way, the body's tissues are protected from being broken down by, for example, oxygen and mental or physical stress. The most studied form of tocopherols, alpha-tocopherol, is frequently used as an antioxidant in foods, denoted E307.
Tip: You can also add liquid vitamin E to your homemade skincare products to give them a longer shelf life.
Vitamin E in skincare
Healthwell Vitamin E Liquid is fat-soluble and therefore well suited for all types of skin and haircare oils. Both vegetable oils, like hempseed oil, and any type of essential oil, can benefit from added vitamin E. Solid fats, like coconut oil, are often less sensitive to oxidation and therefore hardly need any antioxidants. The same goes for various types of wax. If you want to make your own skincare products, we have gathered our favourite recipes below – you can add vitamin E to all of them to give them a longer shelf life.
